A Big Week for the Nerds
Last week had the Nerd Community all atwitter over not one but two official studio photos from upcoming superhero movies. First Warner Brothers released a photo of Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel from The Man of Steel, which currently has our fair city of Chicago doubling as Metropolis.
Not to be outdone, Christopher Nolan released an official photo of Pete Zimmerman-favorite Anne Hathaway as Selena Kyle/Catwoman in the upcoming Dark Knight Rises. I say Christopher Nolan and not the studio Warner Brothers because Christopher Nolan seems to preside over all of his brilliant films like a benevolent dictator. He’s definitely the Information Minister who released this image.
Not to mention the fact that fan images have leaked online in the same week of Batman fighting Bane on the streets of Pittsburgh, which is now doubling for Gotham. How great would it have been if Chicago was both Gotham and Metropolis? This geek’s head might just explode! And I don’t think a Chicago car thief would ever try to use the Batman or Superman movie as an excuse for why he’s stealing a car. Although we do have some really enterprising knuckleheads in this city.
