Deep Dish’s Disgusting Deli Display

On Saturday (St. Patrick’s Day) I attended the TooJay’s Corned Beef Eating Contest in Palm Beach Gardens and strapped a GoPro HD camera to the head of one Patrick “Deep dish” Bertoletti. The results are exactly what I’d hoped for; a disgusting display of corned beef carnage. Patrick came in second with 18.5 sandwiches, and Joey Chestnut won the contest by eating 20. It was a close contest, and I feel that strapping on the HDCam helped motivate Deep Dish.

You’d think that seeing this event in person and then subsequently watching the video of it would case me to lose my appetite for corned beef. In fact, it’s just the opposite. I ate a big old plate of it at my FL condo’s annual St. Patrick’s Day party only a few hours afterwards, and was looking to take home any of the leftovers the old folks didn’t scarf up. Sadly, I forgot that the doggie bag was invented by senior citizens and they all took home their leftover. Presumably, they will be eating them for the next week.
