Neil Armstrong: Dead at 82

(James VanOsdol’s blog)

The first man of the moon has launched into the great beyond. Think about what balls it must take to be the first man to walk on the freaking moon. Rather than do a CNN-style recap of what the man accomplished, I’ll instead offer up an Armstrong-inspired lunar mix of songs. It’s by no means comprehensive; consider it a conversation-starter.

“Moonchild” by Iron Maiden

“Moonage Daydream” by David Bowie

“Pink Moon” by Nick Drake

“Yellow Moon” by the Neville Brothers

“Tahitian Moon” by Porno for Pyros

“The Killing Moon” by Echo and the Bunnymen

“Kiko and the Lavender Moon” by Los Lobos

“What’s Next to the Moon” by AC/DC (my favorite AC/DC song ever)

“Bad Moon Rising” by Creedence Clearwater Revival

“Bark at the Moon” by Ozzy Osbourne
