On Today's Show

James calls France to talk to original Yardbirds drummer Jim McCarty. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame percussionist talks about the band's success during the British Invasion, why Eric Clapton left the band, how Jeff Beck's arrival changed things after that, and whether there was any professional resentment over Led Zeppelin's success. Also: the band continues to tour, and you can see them next month. That gets mentioned, too.

As a bonus, James also calls up Augie Schmidt from the Chicago band Tall Animals. Their new song ("Kings") has the makings of a viral hit, since dozens of U.S. Olympians have been talking about it across every social network.
